A true hero for humanity
Alex, Thank you for serving our veterans that are often forgotten. Thank you for providing CARE in what is a difficult and broken health care system. Thank you for helping the woman and asking her, Are you okay? May God’s peace, comfort, and strength surround your loved ones during this difficult time of loss. I ask god to intercede in this painful tragedy. Life is so precious, just so CRUEL....
I came to this country at 22, worked hard, built a family, and lived a happy life. I never cared much for politics, but Alex, your heroic action is a wake‑up call. It made me realize that now, more than ever, is the moment to step out of my bubble and stand up for the country I love and appreciate so deeply. For that, I will remember you forever. You are our moral compass in this dark time in history. I hope that when future generations study this moment, they will see your sacrifice as the turning point.
Sometimes you land on a beach in Normandy and sometime the Normandy beach comes to you in Minnesota. Thank you for your sacrifice for your country Alex. You didn't die in vain. Your parents must be devastated but also so damn proud of the man they raised.
Alex's parents -- I realize that it could have been me. Alex's sacrifice will not be in vain and he will not be forgotten. I think it will be a turning point. He is courageous, absolutely an American Hero, and the reason I pulled my head out of the sand. Love from Oregon.

I can’t express enough how deeply saddened I am for the tragic killing of Alex Pretti. He is a true hero. He will be remembered as a hero. My condolences for his family and friends during this very difficult time.

My wife, Cecelia, and I express our deep sympathy to the Pretti family. As we followed the tragic event on national news, we did not realize then that it would impact us personally, as one of our sons has a direct connection with Alex's parents, personally as well as professionally. From Wisconsin, we sincerely hope this unconscionable occurrence will be the impetus that ignites changes in the current political landscape for the betterment of all Americans, beginning with total accountability of ICE for Alex's death.
I am so sorry what happened to your son, Mr Pretti and your wife. Sending my heartfelt condolences to you and your wife and family. I'm living in Amsterdam The Netherlands and I am not an American. I've seen the horrible news about Alex. Your son was a hero who wanted to help the lady. I am a totally stranger but Alex touched my heart. Money won't bring back your son, but I have a feeling that I had to do something from afar. Rest in Paradise, Alex.
I wish I could give more truly. Alex Pretti is truly an American hero. A great man, even in his final moments, he was trying to help another. Mike Pretti I just want you to know your raised an amazing individual. People like your son are the reason I continue to fight everyday for others. I’m in law school now, and I hope one day I can deliver Justice for your son in the form of reform. However I understand there is truly no justice for this atrocity. We are behind you and your family. When I watched the video I balled my eyes out for you. I haven’t cried in a long time, but what they did to your son was just horrible, and horrible to watch. I truly hope that Justice will be delivered to the murderer who did this. I am happy the organizer was able to get in contact and will deliver this money. No amount of money though can fill what you lost though surely. Alex lives on in all our hearts, all of us will continue to fight for him.
Here in CT, my family will not forget - Alex lived his beliefs - a compassionate nurse, a wonderful human being. We share your sorrow and pain.
